Legal & Content Practices

This page explains how we source and curate quotes, how to report concerns, and provides downloadable templates for legal/administrative use.

How quotes are gathered & curated

Quotes displayed on this site are collected from publicly available sources and APIs, and from material that is explicitly licensed for reuse. Typical sources include public-domain collections, publisher APIs that provide quotable excerpts, public transcripts, and permissively licensed datasets.

Moderation & removal policy

If you believe a quote on this site is problematic (privacy concern, defamatory, or otherwise inappropriate), please use the links above to review how to report issues. We will review reports promptly and remove or correct content that violates our policies or that we determine was erroneously included.

Copyright & takedown (DMCA)

Most quotes on this site are taken from public or permissively-licensed sources and we strive to retain accurate provenance links. Because quotes are typically short excerpts of larger works, many are used under fair use or appear in public sources. Still, if you believe content on the site infringes your copyright, you may contact us with a takedown request. We maintain a DMCA-style takedown template to help you provide the information we need to investigate and respond.
